A HARLOW man is set to stand trial over a number of charges including possessing an offensive weapon and racially aggravated assault on a police officer.
Ian Noble, aged 39, of Woodwards, Harlow has been charged with the following.
On 27/08/2019 at Harlow without lawful authority or reasonable excuse, had with you in a public place, namely Woodwards, an offensive weapon, namely broken wood.
On 27/08/2019 at Harlow with intent to cause a police officer harassment, alarm or distress used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour or disorderly behaviour thereby causing that or another person harassment, alarm or distress and the offence was racially aggravated within the terms of section 28 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998
On 27/08/2019 at Harlow used towards another threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause that person to believe that immediate unlawful violence would be used against him by any person, or to provoke the immediate use of unlawful violence by him whereby that person was likely to believe that such violence would be used, or it was likely that such violence would be provoked.
He has pled guilty to the charge of racially aggravated assault on a police officer but not guilty to charges 1 and 3.
Noble has been remanded on bail until March 10th, 2020, where he is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court.
He had pled not guilty.
