AN UP and coming vegan restaurant in Harlow has been a target of fake negative reviews on the Tripadvisor website.
Even though it was only opened up in 2019 and is in fact situated at the bottom of the owners garden in Old Harlow, Vegan Buddha has developed a reputation for top quality vegan food.
But the owners have found out, like many restaurant owners around the country, that with success, comes jealousy and that can be made manifest with fake reviews.
Earlier this week, a particularly nasty and defamatory post, claimed that the owner, Quinton Esterhuyse, had been fined £3,000 for “not maintaining hygiene standards” The post (as you can see) attached a photo which they claimed had been taken by Harlow Council.
YH contacted Harlow Council who confirmed that this information was false. They also confirmed that they had inspected Vegan Buddha in May and given it a 5 star rating.
They are not alone. Tripadvisor is going to great lengths to prevent such conduct in Harlow and all around the world.
