Drug dealer who exploited vulnerable in Harlow jailed

OscarA DRUG dealer who travelled from Nottingham to Essex to sell class A drugs has been jailed.

Oscar Ossou, 19, of Pine View, Nottingham took over the home of a vulnerable woman in Harlow and used it as a base from which to deal crack cocaine.

He was arrested when officers from Operation Raptor, a team created to detect and disrupt drug dealing gangs, called at the address on May 24, 2016 to check on the welfare of the woman and her partner.

Officers spotted Ossou drop a plastic bag which was found to contain 70 individual wraps of crack cocaine. He was also found in possession of two mobile phones and a three-figure sum of cash.

Ossou was arrested and later charged with possession with intent to supply crack cocaine.

He pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment at Chelmsford Crown Court on Tuesday, September 6, 2016.

Pc Jack Etheridge from the Operation Raptor team in the west of the county said: “Oscar Ossou is a member of a drug dealing gang. He travelled from Nottingham to Harlow and took over the home of two vulnerable people, using it as a base from which to deal crack cocaine.

“Drug dealing causes unrest in our communities and we will continue working to disrupt drug dealing gangs who travel to our county to sell drugs and cause violence. However much of our work is intelligence led so I would encourage anyone with information about drug dealing where they live to let us know by calling 101.
