Three jailed after string of burglaries in Harlow

Steven Clark, James Clark and Alf Mitchell broke into a property in Rivermill at around 3pm on February 1, 2016 after forcing open the front door.

After conducting a messy search they made off with a three figure sum of cash, handbag and earrings.

THREE men have been sentenced to a total of 58 months following a burglary in Harlow.

Steven Clark, James Clark and Alf Mitchell broke into a property in Rivermill at around 3pm on February 1, 2016 after forcing open the front door.

After conducting a messy search they made off with a three figure sum of cash, handbag and earrings.

Following an extensive investigations and the careful scrutiny of CCTV, Steven and James Clark were arrested on February 6 while Alf Mitchell was arrested on February 10.

Steven Clark, 19, of no fixed address, Chelmsford, was charged with possession of Class B or C drugs and impersonating a police officer and dwelling burglary

James Clark, 19, of Brookes Place, Barnett Road in Potters Bar, Herts, was charged with impersonating a police officer and two counts of dwelling burglary and theft.

Alf Mitchell, 31, of Gibb Croft in Fern Hill Lane, Harlow, charged with dwelling burglary and affray.

All three pleaded guilty and were sentenced at Chelmsford Crown Court on Thursday, September 15.

Steven Clark was jailed for 31 months for burglary, Alf Mitchell was jailed for 18 months for burglary, and James Clark was given a nine month sentence, suspended for two years, and 150 hours of unpaid work.
