A 46-year-old Harlow man will spend Christmas and New Year behind bars in connection with an armed robbery in Much Hadham reports the Bishop Stortford Independent.
Mark Johnson appeared before magistrates in Hatfield on Monday charged with robbery and possession of an imitation firearm.
He was remanded in custody until Monday, January 7, when he is due to appear at St Albans Crown Court. He was arrested on Friday (Dec 7), four days after the robbery happened in Much Hadham.
At 1.53pm last Monday (Dec 3), police were called to Londis in Tower Hill to reports that a man had threatened a member of staff with a gun.
The robber, who wore a motorbike helmet, approached a cashier at the sub-post office counter in the convenience store.
He demanded money and a quantity of cash was reportedly handed over by the cashier. The gunman then fled. No-one was injured during the incident.
