Man caged for four years after sex assault near Town Park in Harlow

marvinA MAN who followed a woman and assaulted her in Harlow has been jailed for four years and six months.

Marvin McKenzie, 29, of Vansittart Road, Forest Gate, followed a woman from Harlow railway station at around 11.35pm on Thursday, March 17 along a footpath between Fifth Avenue and Newstead Way.

McKenzie grabbed the 38 year-old victim, pushed her over and assaulted her. He ran off after being disturbed by a passer-by.

He was arrested in May and charged with sexual assault.

He was also charged with five counts of outraging public decency in connection with a series of incidents where he followed women upstairs at Stratford railway station taking photographs up their skirts.

McKenzie was found guilty of one count of sexual assault and four counts of outraging public decency at Chelmsford Crown Court on Thursday, October 27. He was found not guilty of one count of outraging public decency.

At Chelmsford Crown Court on Friday, November 18 was sentenced to four years for sexual assault and six months for four counts of outraging public decency.
