Cyclist in serious condition after being stabbed on Third Avenue

ESSEX Police are appealing for information about a stabbing in Third Avenue, Harlow, at around 12.25pm today, Monday 22 July.

They received a call from the ambulance service after a man suffered a wound to the abdomen.

They were at the scene within nine minutes and the victim, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital in a life threatening condition.

He has been assisting officers and reported that as he was cycling, he spotted three men having an argument with another man.

This man ran from the scene and the three men then attacked the victim before running off towards the Northbrook Estate.

The man with the knife has been described as being white, around 6ft 2ins, aged in his mid-20s and of a slim build. He had mousy brown spiky hair short hair and we believe he ran away with his shirt off and wore brown jogging bottoms.

A man with him has been described as being of mixed heritage, around 5ft 4ins, in his mid-20s and of a slim build. He was wearing a baseball cap with white writing, black shorts, a green t-shirt and a body warmer.

The man they initially had an argument with, who has not contacted police, has been described as being white, around 5ft 3ins, in his late 30s and was of a slim build. He wore a baseball cap with white writing on the front and a dark hoody.

Investigating officer Detective Sergeant Michael Orr, of Harlow CID, said: “We believe that this is a targeted attack and following some quick actions, we were able to secure the scene and get detailed witness statements.

“We would like to locate the people responsible for this attack and another man who ran from off after getting involved in a fight with these men.

“We would like to hear from anyone who has information or dash cam footage as we carrying out our enquires.
