Man stabbed in attempted robbery near hospital

ESSEX Police are investigating a robbery in Harlow during the early hours of this morning, Thursday 25 July are appealing for witnesses.

It was reported that a 24-year-old man was walking through a wooded area between Hodings Road and Hamstel Road, when he was threatened by a man with what was believed to be a knife.

The man was described as around 5ft 6ins tall, of a slim build with broad shoulders. He had mousey-coloured brown hair with a receding hairline, a long crooked nose, sunken cheeks and beard stubble. He was wearing a black tracksuit.

The man stabbed the victim when he refused to hand over his possessions causing injuries to the 24-year-old’s arm, before running off.

No items were reported stolen and the victim was treated in hospital for his injuries, which were not life changing.

Detectives would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the assault or was in the area around the time and saw a man matching this description or any suspicious behaviour.
